Reset with First Nations
Stand up to First Nations for Canadians
- Full accounting of First Nations Expenditures
- First Nations receive about $32 billion per year
- There are about 1.2 million indigenous people in Canada
- The amount per person is about $16000 per year, tax-free, before any work is done.
- On this basis THERE SHOULD BE NO POVERTY ON THE RESERVES.
- The Association of First Nations needs to explain this discrepancy.
- There must be a full audit for accounting standards AND appropriate use of funds by external (non-indigenous) accountants.
- Define/limit “Right of Consultation” in Parliament
- In the Canadian Constitution there is a requirement that First Nations have a right of consultation on all projects but this is not defined.
